The appeal of submission

What is the appeal of submission?  In an earlier post lil chris said that Ms Violet has “an incredible understanding of the mind of a submissive.”  Ever since lil chris wrote that I’ve been ruminating on the appeal of submission.  magnus identifies part of the appeal as “the giving of oneself and the trust” …. and that comment sparked a lively exchange about the Power Exchange in Dom/sub relationships.  Listen here to My audio on Power Exchange.

The communication of Power

I adore the exploration of power and especially the use of language in the exercise of power.  In fact, I studied Communications not only for My Bachelor’s but also in grad school, specializing in the *language of war.*  Military might is the most extreme use of Power and My interest is how language is used within the communication of issues of war.

The Language of Power

There are various kinds of  “language.”   Yes, there is the Spoken Word and the inflections/intonations of a voice.  Here’s an example:  WordPlay – DESIRE.  There is also the use of body language – the *small smile*, the *wink*, the *raising of eyebrows*, etc.  And, there is, of course, written discourse.  All of these are *merely* the delivery systems of COMMUNICATION.  Language is used to communicate and in the world of phone sex – communication is, obviously, critically important.
